Amendment of Procedure 4 (c)
'Withdrawals from Accounts of Minors'
The
two Head Office letters (reproduced below), reminded branches of the correct procedure for dealing with requests for the withdrawal
of large sums from the account of a minor under the age of seven years. The initials of the officers at the receiving branch (Aston
Cross) acknowledge that they have read the instruction. The £10 limit specified was later increased to £20.
A third
letter refers to withdrawals where the depositor requests a payment by cheque.
