Branches with balances of £150,000 may be considered self-supporting, and in respect of Branches with balances below that figures, the following observations may be made:

Perry Common. The balances now stand at £145,436, and the £150,000 mark should be reached this year.

Wheeler Street. A rapid development of this Branch cannot be expected, but it should become self-supporting in three or four years.

Billesley. The views previously expressed regarding gradual progress are confirmed, the increase last year being £13,196. It will probably take four years to reach the £150,000 mark.

Shirley. Although the balances stand at £122,867 and the increase last year was £32,818, greater progress should take place when the new premises are ready.

Brookvale. The progress of this Branch will be gradual because of the limited area covered by the Branch. Greater activity has been noticed  since daily facilities were provided. It is estimated that it will take five years to reach the £150,000 mark.

Kingstanding. The justification for providing daily facilities is shown by the increase of £27,847 in 1928 and £23,451 in 1939.

Heybarnes. This Branch has been a disappointment from the commencement. It has taken nine years to accumulate balances of £87,161.

Wells Green. This Evening Branch has done well and now has balances of £41,897.

Newtown Row. The balances at £41,317, and while progress will be slow, we may expect larger yearly increases now that daily facilities have been provided.

Tower Hill. This Evening Branch has had a very successful start, the balances now standing at £37,967.

Weoley Castle. The balances are now £30,585, but greater progress may be experienced when the new building is ready and daily facilities are provided.

The amount outstanding in respect of Advances includes £264,053. 5. 0d. in respect of the Pheasey Estate.

The figures for Tower Hill and Wells Green are not properly comparable with last year because the Branches were only open for a few months.

The substantial increases at Kingstanding and Quinton can be attributed to daily opening facilities being provided.
