The Inter-Department Transfer made in 1974/75 was a temporary transfer from No 1 Department to No 2 Department.
The transfer was made in anticipation of an increase in the rate of interest paid on No 2 Department money deposited with NDC (National Debt Commissioners). The transfer was made with the approval of the NDC. The rate increase was subsequently authorised by Statutory Instrument No 388 of 1975. The transfer was reversed in the following year.
 
The No 2 Department commenced April 1st 1957, and ceased November 20th 1976
